On November 4, the round table “Voice rights of dubbing artists” was held within the framework of the research project on artificial intelligence and legal protection of the voice. The activity was held in person at the Faculty of Law of the University of Santiago de Compostela and counted with the participation of ADA, Artistas da Dobraxe Asociados.
On November 4th we held a seminar at the Faculty of Law of the USC with several members of ADA, Artistas da Dobraxe Asociadas, including Desiré Pillado, Antuán Rivas and Paula Carro, all of them actresses and voice actors in Galicia. Professors María Paz García Rubio and Julia Ammerman Yebra explained the main contractual issues that affect these artists when they assign their voice rights to distributors and dubbing studios. For their part, the voice artists present commented on the doubts that arose when reading these assignments, most of which are very complicated and not adapted to our legal system. The activity was part of the Project “Artificial Intelligence and Legal Protection of the Voice”, of the Program of Stimulus to the Transfer of Knowledge, granted by the Area of Valorization and Transfer of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
