On Thursday, 6 November, Professor Herbosa Martínez, professor at the University of Deusto, gave a presentation entitled ‘Debt assumption: conceptual definition and applicable regime’.
During the session, issues relating to unfair advantage and contractual discrimination were addressed, within the framework of the text drafted by the General Codification Commission. The contributions of both academics enriched the analysis from a comparative perspective, with references to the Latin American and European experience.
The event was held in a hybrid format: in person at the Faculty of Law of the University of Santiago de Compostela and also online via the Microsoft Teams platform. It was attended by prominent professors from various universities, which fostered a particularly enriching academic exchange.
The activity is part of a series of monthly seminars organised by the De Conflictu Legum research group, dedicated to the critical study of the proposal to modernise the Spanish Civil Code in the area of obligations and contracts.
