On Thursday, July 17th, professors Patricia López Díaz and Íñigo de la Maza Gazmuri, members of the Academy of Civil Law at Universidad Diego Portales (Santiago, Chile), delivered the lecture entitled “Comparative Perspectives on the 2023 Proposal for the Modernization of the Spanish Civil Code”.

The session focused in particular on issues related to unjust advantage and contractual discrimination, within the framework of the text drafted by the General Codification Commission. The contributions of both scholars enriched the debate by offering a comparative analysis drawing from both Latin American and European experiences.

The event was held in hybrid format: in person at the Faculty of Law of the University of Santiago de Compostela and online via Microsoft Teams. It featured participation from prominent professors from various institutions, fostering a particularly fruitful academic exchange.

This seminar was part of the monthly series organized by the research group De Conflictu Legum, dedicated to the critical study of the Proposal for the modernization of the Spanish Civil Code in matters of obligations and contracts.
