Hernán Cortez participates in the 17th Seminar of the UDP Academy of Civil Law

On Thursday, January 16, 2025, a webinar entitled “Civil public order as a limit to autonomy in view of modern social interests” was held, organized by the Academy of Civil Law at Diego Portales University in Santiago, Chile, featuring a presentation by pre-doctoral researcher and member of the Conflictu Legum group, Hernán Cortez López.

During his presentation, the speaker reflected on the concept of public order from the perspective of civil law, sharing the main results of his research. In his analysis, he highlighted how this notion can become a useful tool for judges when incorporating, from civil law, the protection of social interests that were not foreseen at the time the Code was enacted.
